What we offer

What We Offer

At SORT, we recognise that every individual, family and organisation is unique.

We believe that meaningful support begins with understanding, taking the time to explore not only the challenges someone may be facing, but also their strengths, relationships, experiences and hopes for the future.

Following an initial consultation, we work collaboratively to develop a shared understanding of what is happening and what support is likely to be most helpful.

Drawing on the expertise of our multidisciplinary team, we tailor our recommendations to the unique needs of each individual, family or system.

Our work is guided by the SORT Framework, a neuroaffirming and relationship-centred framework that helps us understand the interaction between relationships, nervous system regulation, identity, strengths, environment and belonging. By considering the whole picture, we are able to identify pathways towards greater connection, resilience, agency and growth.

We are committed to providing evidence-informed support and draw upon a range of established therapeutic and psychological approaches. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, we work alongside people to identify approaches that align with their strengths, needs and goals.

As a virtual multidisciplinary service, we offer therapy, consultation, training and specialist support for children, young people, adults, families, professionals and organisations across the UK.

Understanding the Whole Picture

The SORT Framework is a neuroaffirming, relationship-centred approach that helps us develop a shared understanding of a person's experiences.

Grounded in an understanding of nervous system regulation, the framework recognises that before we can learn, connect, reflect or grow, we need to experience sufficient safety and support.

Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, diagnoses or behaviours, the framework helps us explore the wider factors that shape a person's experiences, including their relationships, strengths, identity, physical wellbeing, environments and sense of belonging.

At the heart of the framework sits the SORT Compass, which helps us understand experiences across four interconnected domains:

The framework also recognises that people are shaped by the families, schools, communities and environments around them. By understanding the interaction between these different influences, we can move beyond asking "What's wrong?"and instead ask:

"What is this person, family or system adapting to, and what do they need in order to thrive?"

Through developing a shared understanding of both strengths and challenges, the framework supports people to strengthen relationships, build resilience, develop confidence in their strengths and move towards greater connection and belonging.
