My Story
Ellen is a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist who works with individuals, couples, parents and families.

She brings over 19 years of experience across NHS mental health services, as well as autism, learning disabilities, social care, youth justice and education services. This breadth of experience helps Ellen in supporting young people and families with a wide range of experiences and challenges.

Ellen is a warm and thoughtful therapist who has a particular interest in supporting individuals and families navigating trauma, relationship challenges and experiences connected to neurodiversity.

Her approach focuses on helping people make sense of their experiences and gently explore patterns within relationships. Through this, she supports individuals and families to find new ways forward that feel more manageable and connected.

Ellen is a UKCP-registered Family and Systemic Psychotherapist and is currently training as an Eco-Psychotherapist, bringing in nature-based approaches where helpful.

She has extensive training and integrates a range of therapeutic approaches into her work, including EMDR, Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) to advanced level, Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT), Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Trauma Resolution Energy Therapy (TRET), tailoring her approach to suit each person or family.

Ellen currently works within an adult NHS mental health service and also offers private work with adults, children, young people and families. A quote that Ellen connects with is;

"May my mind come alive today
To the invisible geography
That invites me to new frontiers,
To break the dead shell of yesterdays,
To risk being disturbed and changed.
May I have the courage today
To live the life that I would love,
To postpone my dream no longer
But do at last what I came here for
And waste my heart on fear no more"
- John O’Donohoe
