About the event

Workshop One: School Transitions and Creating Safety

When school or transitions become a source of stress, children can experience overwhelm, uncertainty, shutdown or conflict.

This live online workshop will help parents and carers look beyond behaviour and attendance to understand what may be driving distress. We’ll explore practical ways to support regulation, predictability, choice and psychological safety, alongside thinking about changes that may help within the child’s environment.

The workshop is guided by the SORT Belonging Framework™ and takes a neuroaffirming, relationship-centred approach. The aim is not to make children fit more comfortably into environments that do not meet their needs, but to understand the child’s experience and consider what support and adjustment may be needed around them.
